Balayage maintenance is crucial when it comes to preserving and keeping your hair healthy after the color.
One general rule is to wash your Balayage sparingly. Too much washing can end up damaging the quality of your Balayage.
We recommend coming in to refresh your Balayage color every 12-14 weeks
Using sulfate-free products is VERY important as sulfate will strip away the color applied to your hair as well as eliminate the natural oils meant to nourish your scalp.
Ensure you purchase a purple shampoo to cut out brassiness. Use at least once a week when washing hair. FYI - it’s sulfate-free!
For long-lasting results of your Balayage, you may use a color-safe shampoo.
Be prepared to protect your Balayage from bright sunlight. Long exposure to sunlight can damage and dry out the hair.
3-4 weeks into the Balayage, you can revisit the salon to apply a glaze/toner to eliminate brassiness and keep up with your Balayage
In taking care of your Balayage, you must treat the hair with a deep conditioning treatment at least once to twice a month. Our favorites are Olaplex, It’s a 10 Mask, and Biolage Mask. These are to be left in for 15 minutes, then shampooed and conditioned out.
Just a reminder- make sure to keep up with your hair trimmings to keep the ends healthy right after any type of deep chemical treatments, such as color.
